Chipata Press Club Check-In Webinar:

On 11th September 2024, Bloggers of Zambia held a media engagement with professionals from the Eastern Province, in collaboration with the Chipata Press Club. The objective was to foster a collaborative in-person discussion, generating region-specific recommendations to inform national advocacy on cyber legislation that respects internet freedoms, addresses the impact of misinformation, and combats harmful content.

Since then, significant developments in Zambia’s media and cyber legislation landscape have taken place. As cyber laws continue to evolve, journalists play a critical role in reporting on issues like freedom of speech, data protection, and online safety. With increasingly complex laws, journalists must navigate these changes while informing the public and holding authorities accountable.

This check-in webinar will update journalists on the latest cyber legislation developments, provide a platform to share experiences and explore strategies for strengthening reporting amidst emerging challenges.
