FOREWORD
Bloggers of Zambia in 2022 and 2023 pursued its vision of becoming a Centre of promoting an
open, safe, inclusive and democratic online society. In pursuit of this vision, Bloggers of Zambia
undertook institutional reforms through partnering with other local, regional and global
organisations to take up new and existing internet freedom projects in our programming. The
organisation was a key policy influencer in Zambia mainly through four main organisational
thematic areas that are; (i) Digital Rights, (ii) Press Freedom, (iii) Civic Tech and (iv) Media and
Information Literacy.
These processes were also in line with the Government’s desire to advance the
digitalisation agenda through the roll-out of digital strategy in line with priorities as indicated in
the Eighth National Development Plan was given prime attention.
During this period, key reforms included (i) Innovation, Research and Development (R&D), (ii)
Information Communication Technology (ICT) and (iii) continuous learning in advancing the
frontiers in the era of technology, which will result in an efficient, safe and inclusive participation
of citizens in the digital space.
